I stared at the sea from the hotel breakfast table at 4:30AM on the race morning. It was already windy and the waves were building up. In 2,5 hours I´d be finally starting the 226km journey towards the Ironman Kalmar finish line.
After 500 hours of training and more than 6000 kilometers logged it´s finally time to recover, fuel up and get ready for the real thing. In exactly a week from now I should be in the middle marathon run making my way towards the Ironman Kalmar finish line – let´s see if these highlights will get me through it!
Open water swimming is probably the topic causing most worries for beginning triathletes. I still find myself a bit nervous before bigger mass swim starts but I´ve found ways that help making even the most crowded swims as enjoyable as possible.
